【S】Top 10 in New York I

Soo..this is kind of an overdue article that I owe one of my friends. I promised him I’d write a post on my favorite things/places in New York but I never did. :/ Sorry!! But now that I’m in vacation nd daydreaming about my travel plans, I figured it’s a good time to do that now.

“So what’s your favorite thing about New York?” I get this question a lot when I tell people how much I enjoyed my trip in New York. So here’s my attempt to better answer it than a simple “Everything!” (P.S. Originally this post is titled “Top 5 in New York”, But that’s just impossible… So here’s my Top 10.) I will try to start with the more famous and typical tourist spots, but the list isn’t in a particular order:

Grand Central Terminal And the Whisperer’s Gallery:

This place has appeared in numerous famous movies and shows, and I was so excited to finally see it with my own eyes! Not gonna lie, I was sort of imagining myself as Serena Van der Woodsen in the very first episode of Gossip Girl (hahaha no judging please!) and I stood on top of the stairs for a good 3 minutes just looking at all the people who were passing through. I love how classy and how energetic this place is. One of the big hall way/gallery is called Whisperer’s Gallery; basically, if you whisper from one corner, the other person at the other corner can hear clearly what you say. So I thought that was pretty cute. I wish V said something more romantic to me though…. 😛

Brooklyn Bridge (at night!)

I guess I don’t have to elaborate more on this. The walk around the lake was beautiful and  romantic. I’m so happy to have seen it at night- Next time, I’ll have to actually walk on the bridge during the day to witness a different look!

Time Square

Obviously THE must go in New York. This was probably the main reason why I fell in love with New York- so much energy, so much color, so bright…literally the city that never sleeps. I just love everything here. It’s very difficult to describe the feeling in words, I guess you’ll just have to really experience it. And again, as a touristy tourist, seeing this scene that I have always imagined from movies was breathtaking.

Central Park

I’m actually not a huge “park” person, but I loved this park. Aside from the beautiful nature and cherry blossoms, I loved it mostly because it is literally “nature within the city”. As you can see from the picture below, it is surrounded by such a busy city, yet once you walk in the park, you feel so serene. I can imagine it as a quick and relaxing getaway for the busy New Yorkers…Honestly, I would love to do my morning runs here- And this- coming from me…is a very very huge deal. 😛

Empire State Building (and the night view)

Haha, yet another very touristy place that you can’t miss. This was the most beautiful night views I’ve ever seen. I’m very much a city girl, so seeing such a bright city from one of the tallest buildings in New york gave me so much energy. I was here in the last hours of my birthday, and I loved it.

I apologize this post probably isn’t giving you any new information, because I actually can’t imagine anyone that goes to New York would miss any of these spots. But I had fun writing this post because I just LOVED New York. And I would love to return to any of these places during my next trip. 🙂 Stay tuned for my next post!
